Frosted Grass
Frosted grass with twinkle light,
early morning becomes bright.
Cool, crisp air
and prickled skin,
a glorious winter's day begins.

~~~
Observance from October's First Rain
The rain taps in torids,
while the eaves spill in trickles.
The gusts of wind sway
the tree's low hanging boughs;
Each leaf flitters
as the drops find fall upon them.
The rose, gorged with water,
stretches out in all directions,
while the worms seek shelter in the light,
to escape a drenching plight.
~~~

Morning
Silver and bright is the light of the moon
that shines through golden leaves
surrounded by shadow trees
at the end of night
into pre-dawn light.

~~~
Frosty Moon and Mistletoe
Frosty moon and mistletoe,
the silent eve lies still in snow.
Across the lee, with shadows still,
one hears the cry of the Whippoorwill.
~~~

Eager Soul
Silent and serene in a field of pastel light, I fly through gossamer Sheen as my Eager soul takes flight.

~~~
The Leaf
How lucky the leaf
falling into the tendril
whose grip hold it tight,
cradles it in its curls
and stops it's downward flight!
~~~

Take Flight
Silent and serene
In a field of pastel light,
I fly through gossamer sheen
As my eager soul takes flight.

~~~
Doty's Garden
In Doty's garden you'll find there grows
Peace, a beautiful, fragrant rose,
Cannas, begonias, and small baby's breath,
Heavenly scents that one can't forget.
Spider lilies next to elephant ears,
The plum trees that fruit year after year.
The figs and grapes swell plump and sweet
After a season of warming heat.
Along the fence the honeysuckle binds,
With the jasmine, trumpet,
and hummingbird vines.
Yellow oxalis and jalapeños hot,
Snap dragons, carnations, and sweet 4 0'clocks.
The creeping charlie covers the ground,
While lantana makes a bouquet that's round.
And every day you'll find her there,
Gloves on her hands, flowers in her hair,
Digging and pruning and loving so deep,
Weeding and keeping all the beds neat.
~~~

Ready to Drink
Awake. I am ready to drink
the splendor before me.
It is to you I want to tell,
no sing,
these words so gay.
For I cherish,
like that last cup of fragrant tea,
The pearl-like finish
to this lovely day!
With wonder and grace
I've been filled.
So complete in my faith
that there not enter
a grisly perceiving,
fake like margarine,
acid for its tender!
But with open heart
I am sated indeed!
Like a mother whose milk
tastes of anise seed,
And whose loins are rich
with the buttery salve,
Of the sweet nectar of life
that we all have!

~~~
Ode to Autumn
Vibrant leaves are now a-new,
touched by an orange, pink and crimson hue!
~~~

Poem for the Post Penumbral Eclipse of the Hunters Moon
Silver and bright
is the light of the moon,
that shines through golden leaves,
Surrounded by shadow trees
at the end of night
into predawn light.

~~~
Happy to Be Alive
Like a flower happily basking
in the morning sun,
swinging to the rhythm of the gentle breeze,
I too am happy to be alive!
~~~

Ducklings
With downy feathers, and playful delight,
Ducklings swim ‘fore they take flight.
In circles ‘round on deep blue lake,
Watch them splash and droplets make.

~~~
Brown Thrasher
(For a painting sold)
Brown Thrasher, my child,
be on your way,
a new loving parent has bought you today.
I won't be sad that we are apart,
for you've found a way to touch a new heart.
~~~

Life is a Blanket
Life is a blanket that securely bundles me
and makes me feel safe in the night.

~~~
Knocking
I knock on the sky.
The sound is crystal glass.
It’s gossamer thin with a high-pitched ring.
It shatters into million shards.
Falling, it transforms into droplets.
Immersing me in the vastness inner space.
Full of everything, and void.
Breathe...
~~~

Free Bird
Oh to be a bird and flit about
in forests green and seas by the bay;
By rivers running fast
and in meadows full of hay,
To nest in redwoods and scratch in sand,
To sing their song where 'ere they land.
It's their right to fly where they please.
They sign no forms and pay no fees.

~~~
Snow Globe Chaos
I'm in a snow globe,
and I must remain,
because the snow has not settled yet.
It still swirls around,
continuing to cast its enchanting
and mystifying spell on me.
 ~~~

... We do the thing that is laid before us to do. We do our very best with what we have to work with at the time. We can't do everything, however what we can do we do with as much love in our heart as we are able. If my heart is a basket, and your love for me are flowers, I will forever be picking the flowers to put in my basket. My basket will never be to full nor will it ever run out. I will always have room in my heart for as much love as you are able to give me.

~~~
Love. We do not tell the Heart how to love. However, it is love that tells the Heart how to beat. It is love that makes breath move within our bodies and gives life. And when the love in me meets the love in you nothing can extinguish its brilliance. It ignites a light so bright that the heart becomes a bonfire of embers and sparks that touches everything that is life, illuminating everything that is.
A Blustery October Day
The wind gods open my unlatched front door
to let themselves in.
I walk over to greet them
and notice leaves scurrying down the street,
Each one trying to outrun the other
in a frantic race to escape
some unseen force
bent on catching up with them.
~~~

Soaring
Silent and serene
In a field of pastel light
I fly through gossamer sheen
As my eager soul takes flight.

~~~
Moonlight Excitement
As I peeked outside
I saw the moon
nearing the western horizon.
It was as thin a sliver as it could be,
and set against a deep cerulean sky
that rose from a clear, salmon hued sunset.
And as I gazed, below the moon,
there flew a skein of geese,
honking with excitement,
which made the experience complete.
~~~

The Oak
For you became like a powerful oak
within my being,
that reached it's roots deep
into every crevice of my heart,
there never to leave,
never to let go-
never to release.
And so it is
that you came to dwell
within my being.

~~~
You Are That For Me
When the sun shines and I close my eyes,
I feel it's warmth and my spirit flies.
You are that for me!
When the song of a joyful bird
sings it praise and is lovingly heard,
You are that for me!
When a gentle summer shower
taps the pedal of a flower,
You are that for me!
When the leaf on a tree
gently sways in the breeze
and falls to the ground with lyrical ease,
You are that for me!
When morning arrives,
I open my eyes,
and in my bed, where I still lay,
my heart leaps up as I praise the day,
You are that for me!
And when nighttime finds my body at rest,
and I'm blanketed by the moon and stars,
I find in my dreams, -in the deepest part,
the warming light of my true loves heart.
You are that for me!
~~~

Where You Dwell
You wanted to know me-
and your essence cast its spell...
And I never wanted to not know you again.

~~~
You Fill Me
In my solitude, you feel me with your overwhelming presence.
~~~

Let Go
Asked. See it as so. Living the feeling please, and then let go…

~~~
Sorrows Are Gone
Between the dark
and the break of dawn,
All past sorrows will be gone.
~~~

Autumn
It's raining.
Not from watery blue,
rather gold and orange.
Not from a grey sky,
rather from trees dropping their leaves, gracefully, silently, falling down,
to the waiting and moist ground
with a peaceful and crackling sound.

~~~
Grey Sky and Bittersweet
"Grey Sky and Bittersweet",
the music so reflects my heart tonight,
it's beautiful and sad, filled with longing and resignation.
Grey Sky, for there is a heavy cloud in my heart, and it's full of tears.
Bittersweet, our love is deep and strong, yet,
you cannot be here with me.
I sit reflecting on my emotions
and the right words to express
what my heart is crying out to convey-
However, I know your heart touches my depth, you know my heart, I know yours,
and I don't need to write them to you.
Still, knowing that doesn't stop the
welling up of "water diamonds" in my eyes,
the bittersweet sadness in my heart.
~~~

The Strings of my Heart
If I ask you to speak the depths of your love, express how you feel our love unfold,
how you live our love an every moment,
and how your heart is changed forever…
Don't worry,
for I long to hear your voice
stroke the strings of my heart.
It's a fragrant petal in the flower of our love.

~~~
You and I
The full moon rests low on the western horizon, soon to kiss the morning sun.
I lay in our bed, alone…
My arm stretches across where you would lay. Your pillows are still fresh…
I remember your touch,
your fingers as they glide lightly along my warm, naked body.
Your lips finding mine,
and the feeling that you and I are all that exist
in this loving moment…
~~~

My Most Loved Experience
No matter what my experience was,
whether I was in New York
gazing at a gorgeous view,
enjoying a delicious meal,
or in the company of interesting people…
You were the most important,
excited me the most,
gave the most meaning to my life.
You were my most loved experience.

~~~
Riding the Waves of Your Love
As I gazed out at the sea that you are,
I was that which pulled your undulating
and rushing waves toward me,
you rushed in endlessly, over and over,
in an explosion of ecstasy
that crashed against my shore,
filling my every crevice with your salty,
white and frothy foam.
~~~

Always following my highest excitement. At one point, I over thought it and as if it was to be some great manifested feeling. However, I see now, for myself, that it lives in every single moment as sometimes the slightest twinge of happiness, feel-good momentum, as miniscule as it sometimes may present itself to be.

~~~
Wisdom shines into my knowing like a ray of light from a door that's been cracked open I see you standing there afraid to look at afraid to bear the brilliance that breaks open your heart to reveal loves ultimate dare...
~~~

 Little bud wrapped tight and secure -delicate petals of a vibrant flower, awaken and stretch in the warmth of the sun, so full of it's life until it is done... Then sends all it's love to its belly of birth which ripens and bursts Into glorious fruit until at last the sweet and succulent gives way to reveal the seed of life burst from its seal.
