My husband was stationed in Germany during the '70's. He was an amateur photographer and carried his camera with him often.
While outside a friend's house he noticed an older woman sitting in her opened window seat with her cats surrounding her, apparently amused by some event in the street.
Ed seized the opportunity and snapped her picture. She had no idea her picture was being taken so the pose was very candid.
When I saw this slide I was overcome with the impulse to paint her. It was an enjoyable painting to spend time with, and the emotions portrayed really touch the heart.
